What's a Community Day? Since 2014, one day a month we have shared our takings (yes takings, not profit) with our brilliant cafe staff and a charity that is close to our hearts. This month we are supporting St.Margaret's hospice. Friends of Monks Yard Charlotte Bean and Geoff Ball, are taking part in a fundraising event for St.Margaret's Hospice this Spring - 'The Machu Picchu Trek 2017'. The 4-day trek is along the remote Salkantay trail jungles, over high passes and with magnificent views of the Andes. Each individual taking part is required to raise their own sponsorship for the trek which is a minimum of £3,500. So Monks Yard have decided to partner with Charlotte and Geoff to help them raise as much money for St.Margaret's Hospice as possible. Come along on Wednesday 26th April to find out more and meet them both fresh from their trek! Remember every coffee, cake or lunch purchased will be helping the work of St. Margaret's Hospice. We'd love you to come along and help us support this great charity and this fab pair!

Like to potter around the garden, planning your borders, digging your allotment, planting your bulbs?
Come along on 27th April from 2pm for a good old chinwag over a cuppa, share ideas, ask for tips, and help us plan and tend to our community garden plot for the coming year. Also pick up your free seed pots to grow from home.  Whatever your skill level we'd love you to join us.

Business In Ilminster Group (BiiG) is a friendly weekly networking meeting that brings together a wide range of businesses in and around Ilminster in Somerset. Whether you’re an experienced networker or just starting up your business they'd be delighted to welcome you along to visit them and see what a BiiG opportunity awaits you. Every Friday from 7am, booking essential.

Every Sunday from 10.30am MY Community meet to worship, listen to God's word, pray and inspire each other to be all that God is calling them to be.  Worship is lively and modern, words are biblical, practical and relevant and we hope you will leave feeling refreshed and energised ready to serve the community around you. Visitors always welcome. First Sunday of the month is Cafe style Church and the fourth Sunday is followed by a "bring and share" lunch.

Each Thursday from 10am MY Community meet to pray together and take communion.  Visitors are always welcome.  This is usually hosted in our prayer room and followed by coffee in MY Eating Place.  Our prayer room is open 9am-5pm Mon-Sat for anyone to use for personal prayer and mediation. There is also a Christian library so feel free to borrow a book.

In other news.........
Thank you to everyone who came to support Baby Basics South Somerset's charity quiz at the Archie Gooch Pavilion last month. It was a fun evening and we were able to raise £233 for the charity thanks to the entrance fee and raffle; which is amazing! Also thanks to all who came along to last month's community day which was also in aid of Baby Basics. We thank Simon Plant for his time in taking some special pictures of visiting little ones in the morning, as well as all of those who made donations on the day.
It's great to have the community behind this great charity.
Our May community day is for Ferne Animal Sanctuary. More details to come in next months newsletter.
That's all for now, don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram for any updates.  Happy April everyone! x
